HUDDLESTONE SPEAKS ON UNITED COACHING ROLE

Former Hull City and Derby County midfielder Tom Huddlestone has spoken about his surprising coaching role at Manchester United. A lot of football stakeholders were shocked when Tom Huddlestone was appointed the under-21s player-coach at Manchester United. He has two appearances for the team having replaced former teammate Paul McShane. McShane was in the role before he moved to a permanent coaching role.

In a chat with Soccer AM, Tom Huddlestone talked about his new role at Manchester United as he revealed that the appointment came to him as a shock as well.According to the former Tottenham Hotspur player, Paul McShane recommended him for the position. Tom Huddlestone and Paul McShane were teammates at Hull City. He said McShane did the role last year before retiring and that he put his name forward. HUDDLESTONE: FIRST DERBY CAREER IN SUMMARY

English midfielder joined Nottingham Forest at a very young age before he was released at the age of 12 as he was said to be ‘not strong enough’. Afterwards, Tom Huddlestone oined Derby County where he progressed well before he made his debut for the reserve team at the age of 15. The England international played the last ten minutes as a ring wingback during a game against Coventry City.

Derby County manager George Burley handed Tom Huddlestone his first team debut during the 2003/04 season. Huddlestone played his first game for the Derby County first team at the age of 16. His Derby County debut ended in a 3-0 defeat at home to Stoke City though he was named the best player after the game.In his first full season as a Derby County first team player, the club struggled though Tom Huddlestone was one of the few bright spots.           HULL CITY MAKE IT 40 PLAYERS RELEASED BY CHAMPIONSHIP CLUBS SO FAR

Hull City have become the latest Championship club to announce player retentions and to add to the sea of free agents in the transfer market. The Tigers have confirmed Tom Huddlestone, Richard Smallwood and Tom Eaves will be leaving the MKM Stadium.


Coventry City have already revealed which players they are letting go while neighbours Birmingham City are yet to confirm theirs and have until May 21 to break the news. They have several key players and some youngsters set to be out of contract this summer. Hull have, though, triggered the options of five players, including Blues-linked striker Mallik Wilks and creative midfielder George Honeyman.

NO HULL CITY EXTENSION FOR HUDDLESTONE

Hull City midfielder Tom Huddlestone won’t be signing a contract extension at the club according to manager Shota Arveladze. The Hull City boss told reporters that Tom Huddlestone was given the chance to say his farewell to the fans during the Nottingham Forest game on the final weekend of the regular season as far this season’s English Championship football is concerned.


The home game with Nottingham Forest earlier this month gave Tom Huddlestone the perfect opportunity to say his goodbyes at the MKM Stadium. His current deal at Hull City will expire in a matter of months and there would be no new contract for the 35-year-old. Read More

ARVELADZE REVEALS NEW SEASON PLANS

Hull City manager Shota Arveladze has revealed that the English Championship side are already planning for the new season. The Tigers are in the English Championship this season after they secured promotion by winning the League One title at the end of last season. As things stand, Hull City are not guaranteed another season in the Championship but that has not stopped them from planning for the new season.
